Photo Shoot

So while I was down in CA last month I was lucky enough to have one of my friends snap some darling pics of my ONE year old baby. Here's a few favorites...

This last one is my favorite! It just makes me smile every time I see it.

Thanks Kali for some great pics! Visit her blog here: http://kalileenstraphoto.com/blog/

Graduates

This past weekend we had the chance to go up to Logan for Ben & Michelle's graduation. Michelle graduated back in December and was going to walk this spring with Ben, but their ceremonies were at the same time in different places. So being the good wife that she is, she went to her hubby's. Congratulations you two! We are so happy for you!

The Graduates

Hailey did surprisingly well sitting through the commencement ceremony. She was just really excited to see her favorite uncle graduate!

For the Grandmas... almost walking!

Hailey is beginning to walk to me! It is so cute and so exciting. We tried to capture it for our mom's to see. She took her first steps on Brandon's birthday. So special. (This is a little old b/c I had issues uploading the video.)

Spring Break

Hailey and I took another trip down to CA last week. My mom was on spring break so we figured it would be a perfect time to go down. Usually when we go down my mom is working so we only get to hangout and play in the afternoons and evenings. This time we had lots of time to do lots of fun things. I was a bit more nervous flying this time around with Hailey just b/c she is a lot more mobile and wiggly. But she did just fine. I took lots of little snacks and books and toys to try to entertain her. Not going to lie...it was a long hour and a half! Hailey loves her cousin Lucas and was excited to see him every morning. He would come in our room when he heard her wake up and she would just light up. She also loved to follow our dog Dusty around. She loved getting kisses from him and touching his nose.

So in an attempt to not overwhelm people with the outrageous amount of pictures that I would love to post, I made collages. Sorry if it's a lot to look at. It's more for me anyway!

First off we went to the beach. Hailey wasn't real crazy about the sand, but did play with it in her hands a little. Love Salt Creek!

We celebrated Hailey's first Birthday at Nana & Papa's also! We made her this cute cupcake cake!

We had to go to Disneyland! Hailey loved it and was such a trooper the whole day...most of the time! Also, first piggy tails!

We took the kids to Irvine Park. It's all decorated for Easter. It's the same place they have the pumpkin patch so Lucas calls it "The Easter Egg Patch!" Lucas went on an Easter egg hunt, decorated cookies, got his face painted, jumped in the bounce house and we took a train ride around the park.

We headed down to San Diego to visit with my grandparents. We went down to Old Town and went to the newly remodeled Mormon Battalion. It was awesome! If you get a chance, go visit.
Lucas dressed up like the soldiers...kind of.

While down in San Diego we made a trip to the San Diego Zoo. It's such a big zoo, you could spend a couple of days looking around it.

Met up with my dad's parents and his brother's family for breakfast. Haven't seen my cousins in a while!

Here's a few extras:

Yo Gabba Gabba shirts that out Auntie got us! Toodee & Plex.

12 Months

So this past month Hailey turned one. I can't believe how fast that year went! It doesn't seem like it's been that long at all. Hailey has mastered crawling and pulling herself up on things. She loves to walk around holding onto things. And she is so close to walking! One day it will just click. She eats and eats and eats! I swear this girl never gets full! I have to just cut her off sometimes and she is not happy about it. She loves eating finger foods and feeding herself. She has a little temper...this must come from Brandon! But she will scream and kick her legs when she doesn't get her way sometimes. She has also been known to hit. I don't know where she learned these things! She loves stuffed animals. Anything plush. She just will hug them and love them. So cute! She likes to dance and shake her booty! Loves dogs. Claps her hand every time you say good job. Tries to cover her eyes to play peek-a-boo. Extremely attached to her mom! Don't really know what to do about it. Words she says or tries to say: ma-ma, da-da, uh-oh, ta-da, pa-pa, thank you, ba-ba, no, night-night. Jibber jabbers all the time!

12 Month Stats
Length: 31 in. -- 95th percentile
Weight: 25lbs 15.5 oz. -- above 95th percentile
Head Circumference: 46.0 cm -- 75th percentile

*Note: The nurse measured her at 30 1/4 in. (85th percentile) but I watched her do it and it looked way wrong. So I came home and re-measured and got 31 in.

Look Who's One!

On Monday March 28th Hailey turned one! I still can't believe it has been a year. I seriously feel like I just brought her home from the hospital for the first time. She is just the best thing that has ever happen to our family. We have learned so much from her and just love her to pieces!

We wanted to throw her a little party....so on Saturday the 26th we had friends and family over for cake, ice cream and fun! Hailey had fun playing with the neighbor kids, opening a few presents and eating cake!

Dressed and ready to party!

Playing!

In Our Future...

I looks like we'll be needing to learn how to share in the future. We took Hailey to Old Navy and Brandon bought her one of those 25 cent bouncy balls. She wouldn't let us see it after that. It was really funny. Now occasionally when she has something and I ask for it she will totally turn away. Oh boy.

Beginning the Binky Battle...

Hailey is very attached to her binky and has been from a very early age. She has never been a very good self soother and wanted to suck as soon as she was out of the womb. It was great when she finally figured out how to find her binky and put it in all by herself. But now that she has all these teeth coming in (eight...almost nine) I'm starting to think we should break her of it. It's going to happen in the future so why not do it sooner than later and hopefully it won't be so bad. At least I'm hoping. We are trying to just give it to her at nap times and bed time. But we finally gave in this evening because of the crankiness. Ugh. Hopefully we are strong enough to follow through. If not we'll be having this conversation later...

Stole the Show!

Last weekend Brandon and I headed up to Snowbasin for the Dew Tour. They have a massive half pipe that is a lot of fun to watch. It's really weird to think that last year at this time I was 8 months pregnant and we went up to the Dew Tour. I had a hard time tromping through the snow and I just remember telling Brandon that I needed to sit down every 10 min. b/c my back hurt! It was a much different story this year. We took Hailey in the backpack and had a great time. We hiked up to the top of the half pipe, which actually was quite a good little workout. Hailey was the center of attention. Everywhere we went people were stopping and pointing her out. While hiking up the half pipe at one point a group of teenage boys stopped and admired her. One of them said "Look how 'sweet' that is. I can't wait to have kids." Ha! Made me giggle a little bit. The weather was spectacular! Hailey was a trooper and definitely stole the show!

Relaxing at the top of the half pipe

 Can you see the skier?

First chair lift ride! Dad couldn't be more proud :)
